Does a BAD IDEA begin at CONCEPTION?
Or At SUGGESTION??
Check out DEFEND YOUR POST. Let’s Get something going!!
I like that chalice. It really embodies the Jesus message
Tasteful. Humble.
It’s hard not to get infuriated looking at that thing.
I’ve been to the Vatican. Loved it, but it should be a museum. The institution has outlived its usefulness… if in fact it ever was “useful.”
Hell, and you come to Rome and you don’t drop by to say hello?
Were you there last century?
Hey Sweetie…I nominated you for the “Inspiring Blogger Award” Check it out on my WP site xoxoxo
That guy looks so … earnest … but my first thought was (as always) how much would that cup fetch on the open market, and couldn’t ol’ Earnest at least have taken off his ring first, lest he send mixed messages about squashing rich men into Heaven through the eyes of needles?
Isn’t that act symbolic cannibalism, right up to the moment God waves His magic Finger and turns the bikkie into real flesh and the wine into real blood—at which point symbolism ceases and … yuk … retch, barf, runs gagging from the room …
Exactly. That’s what Zande and I were wondering, too. What metal do you think it is?
His ring—my uneducated (but divinely inspired) guess is silver, with the doodle in the middle being gold or gold-plate. The whole could even be white gold or platinum, depending on how impoverished his order is.
The sacred cup looks an ostentatious mix of silver and gold. Makes one ponder the significance of the scene in the Harrison Ford movie “Last Crusade” where the hero has to make a life or death decision on which would have been Christ’s cup. Lucky for him he got it right … perhaps the movie should be compulsory viewing for all religiosi?
Yes, or at least they should make it into a textbook.
Well, it’s not a long immortal nobody post, but at lest I got a little fix…
Ok, I’m posting a new Immortal Nobody today, loosely inspired (as always) by Plato’s Utopia. Since you encouraged me, I will “dedicate” it to you with a link to your site.
Well, thank you very much! I look forward to reading it. It felt like a long, long time without my dose of absurdity…
If you haven’t noticed, I’m easily distracted.
