You have a superb way with dialogue. Excellent pace. Like watching a game of tennis.
For a man of such extensive experience, Malaka sucks at articulating his thoughts. Tipota is the most fitting of all names thus far. If he had been able to explain himself, perhaps Afelis would not have come off as close-minded…
I believe another point it’s trying to illustrate is that even an immortal has difficulty articulating his thoughts in casual discourse with random strangers … highlighting the unbelievability of people who speak in parables.
Maybe I am being too hard on him. As it is clear that experience alone doesn’t translate into development.
Good insight! I know … that’s the sad part … he’s immortal … yet cannot escape the obscurity of his existence. Plus, he drinks a lot.
